The campsite provide tents and all other camping equipment that can be used during your stay while at Lake Ihema Campsite. Other amenities include a small bar, a viewing deck and ablution block and among others that can make your stay enjoyable include the swapping view along Lake Ihema.

Visit Akagera National Park

Akagera National Park is a famous Savannah reserve that lies in the eastern part of the Republic Rwanda along the border with Tanzania. The Park boasts its attraction in big 5 mammals Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Leopard, and among others include topi, Giraffe, zebra, water-buck, roan antelope and eland. Other antelope are duiker, oribi, bohor reed-buck, klipspringer, bush-buck, impala and other primates which you see during the day include olive baboons, vervets and the secretive blue monkey.

Akagera National Park is the birder’s haven where it hosts over 520 bird species and the best time to spot such bird species is in the morning and in the evening along with its game tracks. This avails birdwatchers a great opportunity to see a number of bird species endemic to the savanna which include Shoebill, Caruthers Cisticola, White-winged Warbler, Papyrus Canary, and Red-faced Barbet. The Park has numerous activities that make your stay enjoyable including game viewing, a boat trip along Lake Ihema, bird watching, nature walk and fishing and among others.
