Karenge Bush Camp is found in Akagera National Park, perched in the North East province of Rwanda along the border with Tanzania. Karenge Bush Camp is the only mobile facility in the wildlife park contains six charming canvas tents and accommodates a maximum of 12 guests, making it an intimate wilderness experience.

In Kinyarwanda, Karenge means ‘small footprint’, and it’s the name of the area where the camp was first established in Rwanda. Karenge Camp is a quiet retreat in Akagera Park. Each tent sleeps two people on comfortable camp beds, raised on simple decks, with solar lights and lanterns for light. The Karenge Bush Camp is supplied by warm water in ensuite bathrooms next to each tent which have bucket showers and toilets. Solar fridges keep drinks cold in the bar. Karenge Bush Camp is full board so all meals are included. Karenge Bush Camp makes a great combination when combined with Ruzizi Tented Lodge in the south of the park.
