Akagera Transit Lodge is a community lodge made of a blend of luxury and traditional settings located in the community surrounding Akagera National Park about 2 km to the park entrance. Brand new and nicely built accommodations at an affordable price, our rooms are elegantly decorated in a Rwandese style with the beautiful view from the terrace are the fields, the houses, the cattle, and bird species. Rooms and beds are big with kitchenette equipped with a microwave and fridge, grounds are nicely manicured, and the restaurant is pretty good too.

This beautiful little lodge is perched on the edge of the Park with 13 rooms which are designed for the environmentally conscious, eco-adventure traveler, seeking intimate contact with the unique natural heritage of Akagera National Park and the local community. Our rooms, kitchen, and coffee shop are at your disposal for you to enjoy every single moment of your park experience.

The Akagera Transit Lodge offers community cultural experiences and biking in the community around the Park. We work close to the community surrounding the lodge through hiring; sourcing of the lodge supplies and it was constructed in a way that does not disturb nature.

From our lodge, you can make entry to the park for a game drive safari to see a variety of animals including the Big Five on a lucky day, or simply get on a boat safari on Lake Ihema for aquatic life amidst hippos and birdlife.
